When a large number of people begin to use and reuse a phrase in a language to mean one thing, when actually what they are saying is something else, what arises is miscommunication.
In Nigeria, it has been observed that the younger generations are not schooled to use the English language as strictly and correctly as their forbears were taught to do in schools in the past under several examination boards and screenings. The result has become that some young
people now are not aware when what they are saying in English, is not what they actually meant to say.

For example, high school and university students in Nigeria see no problem in saying this, "My father used to buy fine things for me", when what they actually mean to say is, "My father buys fine things for me".
Those two sentences are not the same thing and one can never be used to mean the same as the other.
So Nigerians must endeavor to use their English language to communicate well so that they would be understood perfectly well when they are outside of their country.

MISCOMMUNICATING MAY HINDER YOUR SPIRITUAL GROWTH?
The best assumption is that spiritual matters do not depend on language, but rather, more on intentions from the soul that are generally not seen, but only privy to the eyes of spirits. But one can hardly hold back without commenting, when this miscommunication has crept up in churches, in the way Nigerian christians are singining their songs during church services.
WHAT A MARVELOUS GOD!
For example, there's this wonderful song that goes like this... "What a marvelous God, that has done so many things for me".... and it continues, "...What a marvelous God, He used to do wonderful things for me."
To an English speaking human being, it will be understood that there is a marvelous God who does good things. And then the understanding is stressed in the second part of the song when the same singer now is understood to say that this marvelous God used to do wonderful things.

There is obviously a loss in the way the singer had meant to communicate the second part of the acclamation about this marvelous God. Obviously, the singer intended to convey to the humans and spirits listening, that this marvelous God who does good things, is stll doing wonderful things for the singer. Unfortunately, what is conveyed in the second part of the song is that the marvelous God used to do wonderful things for the singer, in the past.
That is where the English speaking spirits chill and wonder if this marvelous God who does good things, is still doing any wonderful things for the singer lately? Ofcourse this wonderful God is still doing great things for everybody lately, but it is being communicated in this song as if the marvelous God only "used to" do.
This innocent miscommunication greatly diminishes the view of the deeds of God which are good and continually lingers on for all God's children even if they acknowledge God or not. It would have been nice to avoid the conflict for the English listener to wonder if these marvelous deeds are continuos or only in the past. But glory be to God that spirits understand the hearts of human beings, and the holy spirit is busy conveying our true intents in what we say to God..
